Yes, some are slightly curved, as Aki's Moose. Some are totally staight. Or "hourglass"...as asked. All tube size of frames are chosen for rider weight, riding style/purpose etc.

What's your job when your "hobby" is exellent welding of TI frames?
Is it all learning by doing?

Sorry to disappoit you but:
A) I have outsoursed welding. I design only. The progress that means most for ride quality...
B) I have 60cm leg round measure...but waist is also 80cm...
I automation technician as profession.

So, when you made the design, who is the welder? A professional company?
Sorry, I do not know all TI builder...
Maybe there is a chance to realise my own design wishes...

As you see tyre is front as it can be ridden. It can be far behind but owner wanted it to have short chain stay as possible. And it depends what are chain rings....

Back to topic:
I ordered H3C front wheel since HED hasd some on ready to ship.. I also have Lightweight 16-spoke front wheel...
As you see there is like 15% difference on drag, so H3C is slightly faster? But ho this is for 1 hour if avg speed is 45km/h?
I will use Lightweight disk+H3C for time trialing,Lightweight's for training and some crappy alloy wheels for racing...
As you see racing punishes wheels some time...last weekends race ate one of my rear wheel on start of sprint,500m to goal...crash!
