VanTuyl Tica frame
Moderator: robbosmans
Hi,
I have the possibility of buying Van Tuyl TiCa + frame for a really good price but I can't find any reviews. Could anybody give me any opinions about that frame? Is it stiff (i weight 175 lbs, 80kg), comfortable, durable, etc? Here's the photo of the frame:

I would not consider a frame without a derailleur hanger a problem.
If I get a frame without one then I get a groupset that comes with one.
If the frame has a mount then I'll buy a groupset that is compatible with braze on.
Why is this even an issue with frame performance?

It looks like it's my size. Can I have it?
Seriously though, it looks sweet. How much are you getting it for? It may be worth the purchase just to add to your stable, if anything else.
Beautiful TI/Carbon mix it looks like. Well done!

I have a very similar frame that i purchased from a friend a year ago. the frame is stiff for my standards. this is my first ti-ca frame. it is fairly light and a decent build will weigh about 16-18 lbs. so far, after breaking in the seat and the new goemetry of the frame, i think it is comfortable enought for my daily 36 mile commute to work. i still have not noticed any loosening of the ti-ca jointing or cracks for that matter. i live in LA and the roads here are pretty nasty depending on the nieghborhood. i am happy with it. good luck.
