Here's a pic of my bike in it's current form. I am waiting on an unpadded AX endurance saddle, FRM BB and when there is a ITM Unika bar in 31.8 diameter or the 3T Bio Morphe comes out I am getting a Calfee Barstem integrated bar. Currently weighs right at 7000g with 130 g of Airlock sealant in the tires and 105g stainless steel kneesavers pedal axle extenders. I had intended to stay UCI legal but the new parts may blow that for me and then I won't know when to stop.[/img]

I weighed most of the stuff when I got it but didn't keep any record so this is all from memory -

Frame - Custom Tetra 54cm ST, 56.2 TT, 8.0cm BB drop, dragonfly style rear dropouts, and a few other tweaks. 1190g (?)

Fork - Alpha Q Extralite (pre True Temper days) with Ti dropouts 344g cut to 210mm with insert and glue

Wheels - Zipp 280 tubular rims, AC hubs, 20/28 hole, Black Sapim CX-ray spokes with gold DT alloy nipples. Originally they were 1110g with no decals, but I didn't re-weigh after I rebuilt with black spokes.
QR Skewers - Performance Q-stix Ti 83g
Tires - Veloflex Criterium with Airlock sealant cause I HATE flats
Cassette - 11-23 Chorus steel (I am a little practical)
R. Der, F der -35mm clamp, Ergo Levers all 03 campy record
Casings - Transfil Flying Snake carbon
Cables - campy
Brake Calipers - Mavic SSC, Kool Stop black pads on rear, Zipp carbon on front.
Seat Clamp - stock calfee

Saddle - AX lightness Endurance Comfortline 104g
Cranks - FSA Compact 175mm 50/34 551 grams with all bolts and hardware (also use FSA Superlight 175mm 53/39 531g with hardware).
BB - Currently FSA cheapest ISIS BB something in excess of 225g
Chain - Wipperman nickel 10sp
Pedals - Speedplay X-1 151g. with Stainless 20mm axle extenders (thanks dad for those splay feet)
Handlebars - ITM Unika 46cm, 26.0 diam. 220g (must have been the heaviest one of the batch)
Stem - Ritchey Pro 13cm 175g with shim for 1" steerer
Bar Tape - Cinelli cork, formerly white.
Headset - Ritchey WCS with AX carbon cap/ti bolt @ 4g
Cages - Campy Record carbon 19g each (bolts are part of frame)
Misc - 2.5 cm carbon headset spacers, Cateye Mity 1 computer, Tufo steel valve extenders, glue, air, dirt, 303 protectant for the nude finish, small tape bits to mark position, grease, and I think that's it.

Besides the Barstem, saddle and BB I am thinking gold IRD metawire casings would be a nice touch. When I get the next round of stuff in I will have to weigh it all again.

I wouldn't have thought it possible but I am somewhat embarrassed about the $95 bottle cages, but they are just soooo cool.

Just a question-why did you change the drop on the Calfee from their standard 7cm? Does this lower or raise the bottom bracket height? please let me know-I am very interested. I am looking to get my hands on either a Tetra or a Dragonfly, but if I do I am going custom and their bottom bracket height is one of the things I was considering changing. Thanks in advance!

what model ax-lightness saddle are you waiting on? i have been using the sprint unpadded for over a year now, and it's proven to be comfortable, and strong, and it weighs in at 71gm. amazing stuff.

I am waiting on an AX Endurance SL. Hopefully I won't miss the padding of the comfortline on 7 hour rides.

I went for the 8.0 BB drop, which lowers the BB, for better stability and descending. I designed the frame based on what I liked on about a dozen bikes over the years and I always loved lower BB's on switchback descents. My design preference would be to use about a half degree shallower head angle on most of the stock Calfees too. But that is because I like the steering a little slower than most American criterium kings (174cm tall and 60kg I don't have a chance in those anyway).

As I understand it, Serotta used to have 7.0 drop on his frames but went to 8.0 on all of them because all the custom requests kept asking for it. I think he also uses shallower head angles than the stock Calfees.

Plus had an internal shim put in the bottom of the seat tube to stiffen the BB and counteract the extra lateral force from the pedal axle extenders.

I am very happy with the way it turned out and how it handles. I haven't really gone balls to the wall on any descents yet since I had a bone scan last spring and found out I was on my way to osteoporosis. After a year on medication I think I will feel safe enough to let it rip again. I didn't want to end up like Tyler Hamilton this year.
