whats up guys, so I sent the frame for a repaint. I like this frame and still serves me well so decided to give it a fresh coat. It's much cheaper than getting a new frame as well

I should get it next week I hope.

This is what it looked like before

Image

did alot of tuning to most parts like alu and titanium bolts ,shaving some parts , drilling, dremelling, anodising, polishing, etc...

I also will install an edge 2.0 fork and a Parlee FD clamp thanks to Madcow.

here is the crank for starters. a centaur UT polished and with specialité TA chainrings, kcnc chainring bolts and enduro ceramic bearings.

will update with pics and weights when it will be finished.

my goal is to be under 6.8kg with alu crank and alu clinchers.

update

here are some recent pics I took

Looks good now; I am sure it will look even better after the repaint.

I rented a Roubaix couple years ago when I was on a business trip, and to date it is still the best fitting bike I have ever ridden. I am still not sure why I haven't bought one...

yep. its a good riding bike, especially set up the way I have it. It's stiff enough for me , it descends well, climbs nicely and is comfortable enough.

can't wait to try the edge 2.0 on it.

I asked my painter for some white Specialized stickers with chrome outline on the down and seat tube, the rest will be white pin stripes a la king3 type of thing.

can't wait to see the result.

here is the rear derailleur:

record with tuned bbb ceramic pulleys, tuned inner and outer cages, alu pulley bolts and soon to have alu barrel for campy from torontocycles.

I think original weight was around 189-190gr.

when i'll swap the pulleys for the extralites I should be down to 169gr.

What's it cost to respray a bike nowadays?

And do they strip the previous layer off?

well, for carbon it all depends on the paintjob you want. It starts at around

200$ and can go up to 1000$ if you want airbrushing etc...

You always have to strip the previous finish if you want a good job. you have to sand it.

some more parts I just put on the scale.

the clamps and front derailleur. I'm still missing to change the little cage bolt for alu so should bring it down to 79gr.

The Parlee clamp makes me save 22gr. Nice. Combined with the FD I saved 30gr.

I hated mine, I wanted the older style back, but now that i'm used to it, it feels best.

I love the crank work.
Slick as a whistle
it's actually possible to come to the conclusion even before realising it makes no sense at all

Very, very nice paintjob. I'dd only swap the saddle for a full white one. The black stripes are a bith over the top, but that's just me...
