Hubs
Moderator: robbosmans
I want to build some new race wheels. Rims are Ambrosio Crono 36 hole (342 real weight), spokes will be DT Aerolite or Sapim CX-Ray. I want to have the best hubs so weight comes at the 2nd place here. DT Hügi 240 and Tune come in 36 hole and normally DT 240s road too.
The hubs will be DT 240s (96+230g) or Tune Mig66/Mag200 (79+209g).
With the Tune hubs my set will weigh 1350g. Which hubs do I have to choose?
They have to be smooth and durable

You can also look into spada, they are lighter than the tunes. then theirs frm, which alow you to adjust the bearings. whichever way you go, you cant go wrong.
Are You sure?
I looked at the DT-Swiss Homepage and the Hubs are only available in 28 and 32 Hole?
To the Tune´s :
I brought the rear wheel to my dealer (big Store with own racingteam), cause it needed new bearings. It was 4 month ago!!! Today I called him and he said: It´s ordered but they dont supply.None knows why
@spytech:
are the Spadas or the FRM hubs in 36 available? I think only up to 32 hole.

Do you have the ones with hybrid ceramic bearings?
so why is it so hard to get the bearings for the tune hubs? i think you should try somewhere else besides your local bike shop.
I asked Corrado Spada if they build 36 hole hubs and this is his reply:
We don't build 32 and 36 hole hubs. In fact 28 straight pull spokes are stronger.
I have some Ambrosio Crono (alu 340g) rims with 36 holes waiting to be build up, but I think I'll try to get them (they don't produce anymore and 32 is very hard to find) in 28 to build them with straight pull spokes
