Why's Campag being picked on? The prices are loads more reasonable than Shimano at the moment.

price drop is due no demand VS plenty of supply

3 years ago zero g had ZERO competetion. today kcnc, eebrake, trp, bontrager + others. competition works.

yup.

A move which was happily accepted by retailers who had already bought stock at the original wholesale price.

Guys it's simply a market adjustment and I would be suprised if you don't see this from many companies.

The past 15 years the answer to the question "why do you charge that much?" has, to some degree been "because we can".

Counter that, now the answer the the question "why do you not charge as much?" is simply "because we can't".

Part of me likes when companies are plenty profitable because they continue to spendon RnD and are incentivised to stay agressive. But I'm happy that retails are droping and products are being introduced that are more in line with reality (though high end cycling reality is a little warped...)

Well, everytime you buy something, or don't buy something, you can always make an extra charitable contribution to the store, distributor, and/or manufacturer to properly fund their R&D effort.

On a similar note, it appears that BMC has permanently dropped the MSRP of all their frames by 30%.

KCNC's are still a better deal for the $/g.

I would give credit to KCNC for this. Those guys really took the market by storm with the best balance of price/weight/performance. Ciamillo is squeezed between KCNC on the bottom and AX on the top and they don't have the "bling" factor they did a few years ago. They were force to drop prices to get out of their unattractive price/performance valley to be competitive.
