I was looking at this fork the other day while in one of their shops. They're selling it for $129.99 IN the shop, on the website it costs more.

The fork is fairly light, 385g for 300mm. Not bad at all. I'm just wondering who might make it. Of course, I asked them and they either wont say or don't know. I know performance brand tends to be the "hershey's chocolate" of bike gear but sometimes they put out a good deal. Maybe it's made in Iraq or Iran!

maybe martec in taiwan (or one of their sister company's), they make alot of the carbon products for cycling. some of these company's in taiwan even make carbon fiber for Formula 1 cars, these taiwan company's actually make the best carbon fiber products, in the world. you can get the storck 0.9, scott c1 frame, and others unbranded for a cheaper price.

you can also check out pedal force they sell some of martec frames and forks, not so lite but good price

YES i do. spent sometime looking into it. i have a friend that goes out there, he told me that they can basically get almost any frame you want unbranded (that they make for other companies), but you have to have someone to buy it for you over there, they will not ship anywhere. and they will not sell to just anyone.

http://www.bikexpo.com/vip/MARTEC/

also check out www.pedalforce.com http://www.pedalforce.com/zx.html no longer offered

also http://www.supergo.com/profile.cfm?LPRO ... earchtext=

those frames are almost the same. supergo has the zx frame and pedal force has the zx-2. but both frames are made with HM carbon and have the same weigth 3.0lbs

there are more of these, i just stop looking after a while.

EDIT: http://www.cyclingforums.com/t33659.html goto the last 2 post
im still thinking of building a beat up bike with that pedalforce frame.

http://www.bpstealth.com/ <-----------also uses martec frames like the zx

Dont buy the frame of the picture. I had one which I purchased as a LOOK. After a year of use the BB flexed a lot, you could make it flex with one finger.

you should return it. the pedalforce bikes have a 5 year warranty. the same people that make these frame make kestrel's so i think you just got a defective frame or something, usually these bikes are very good quality - i have not heard anything bad from them, your the first.

If that fork is made by Kinesis then $129.99 for the all carbon is a very good deal. Thanks for the info and the link!

BTW, anyone know how to safely strip the decals from that fork? It appears that the decals have a layer of clearcoat over them.
