Tune Skyline Ceramic BB

Anyone know anything about the Tune Skyline ceramic BB listed on the weights page? Is this a new BB that Tune has out? It is not advertised on the Tune site, but they supposedly don't update the site frequently. It weight 116g which is about 20g lighter than anything out there now.

I heard they took it off the market due to cost. It was very!!!!!! expensive.
I bought the ti one instead. Looking back I would have bought an
American or Canadian one. The Tune people sent instalation instructions in German and when I asked for them in English they said thier parts were not meant for export and that was it.

Thats odd and surprising since most of continental Europe speaks English.
What a shame.

They have translated their instructions to English about one year ago.

Ok, I saw the article. But are there other manufacturers - such as SKF - who only make bearings, that produce them?

If things work out financially for me over the next 6 months I'll be building a DH bike and a light road bike. If I wasn't so fat I'd strongly consider the use of this BB, the limiting factor is the Tune Cranks that the only ones compatible with it- a little to flexy for me

According to tune their new hex taper is 40% stiffer than square taper.
When I compare this with the results from a stiffness test I read a while ago, this should mean that hex taper BBs are at least as stiff as Octalink or ISIS BBs.

And I guess soon other manufacturers will follow with hex taper BBs and cranks.

Florian, Do you know anything about the tune cranckset for the hex BB? I saw the BB in the Bike workshop, but couldn't find the fitting crancks. And do you also know prices. (This is for mtb, Sorry wrong forum )
