Are these forks any good? Would they be a worthwhile upgrade from the stock forks on the 2002 Trek 5500 frameset?

i used to work at the biggest trek dealer in my area, and one of the largest trek dealers in the world. We had very close contact with the trek reps, and some of the other employees were often given prototype products to test (wheels, etc) I had a lengthy conversation with one of the reps about how heavy last years 5900s were, because it seemed like they never built up very light. We talked about why they didn't use all carbon forks in their bikes and he seemed very apprehensive because of the strength issue. The point I'm getting at is, although I have never personally ridden thse forks, I knwo for a fact that trek would not put something out on the market without addressing concerns like this, so you can be assured that the forks are reasonably stiff, but probably not THE lightest, but of the highest quality.
