With or without use of shims, what's a good and strong way? I know a Thomson 410x31.6 weights some 245g, and my USE alu 420mm is 212g, but I'd need a thick shim, even the plastic one will be over 25g.
Any tips appreciated! I really need the 400+mm, as I have a 995mm inseam and a 21" frame...
Cheers!

If you don't need any offset, Thompson Elite is probably the way to go. Easton has just released new versions of the EC70 and EA70 posts. They look to be better designed and lighter than the older versions. Both posts have a lot of offset (40mm) and both are available in 31.6x400
