folks -- from an unnamed industry insider...

Take a look on the specs on the '09 Bora Ultra Two Wheelset... lets see... you get:

* Ceramic Bearings
* Compatable with Shimano (sacraledge! can the pope intervene here?)
* Compatable with Campy 9, 10 and 11 Speed!

Can we assume Shimano 2009 will also be 11 speed ?
Can anyone confirm if Shimano introduced DA 9 at the Giro in 1996 , forcing Campag to rush out their own 9 for the Toer 1996 ?

Well... why not 11 spd? Just keep making rings, cogs, and chains narrower...

I'm waiting for the 10mm pitch stuff... and also 18 spds so I can get rid of the front shifter and one of the chainrings...

Don't forget TISO announced they will be showing an 11 speed group at Interbike months ago.

It's bullshit, I can't understand why Campy bother with 11spd? It feels like they haven't got much else in their bag of tricks so they had to come up with something other than the electric group to try & impress.

So assuming the dish remains the same will this mean a 10% reduction in the width of a chain? So a 5.45 mm width chain? How much more likely is this to fail?

Shame to move away from a new found 'standard' 10 speed chain width.

My prediction is that that we will eventually go to 15 speed in the back and 1 chain ring in the front. This will eliminate the front derailleur, front gearing mechanicals inside the left shifter, and of course, unnecessary cables. You all will all thank campy many years from now. Bikes are only going to get lighter.

What is the difference between 9 to 10 , and from 10 to 11 ? Why is 10 an established standard ?
For me , the DA 9 was as good as it gets.

It's not. It's "the current" establish standard. Surely, it is subjected to change with time.

on the literature that the OP posted it says 9,10, 11 speed. Whether that means 10 years from now it doesn't specify.
