Agreed plus i thought it was quite a clever way of avoiding the dreaded cable rub on the head tube from his ergo cables.

Have you not heard the rules for taking photos of your bike? Shame on you!
1) Large chainring, small sprocket
2) Cranks horizontal
3) Right side of bike facing camera
4) Bike shall be held up by "hand of god" (generally done by taking two photos and editing them together to remove hands)
5) No saddle bag
I've gotta agree that the second one looks rather nice though, I have great respect for anyone who can do a proper bike colour scheme with only two colours!

cranks should be aligned with top tube
Seriously, I saved somewhere a great post from another forum with tips on how to take a perfect picture of a bike, I should search for it.
Anyway to take pictures like those in the OP you need a pretty good light setup.

The problem with that is that the tyre logo should be aligned with the valve and so the tyre logo will be partially covered. To me the valve should, along with the tyre logo, be at the top.

No. It's for the bikeforum guys desperately seeking recognition that cant help themselves from fellating when one of a few guys post. The guy who posted this in particular, and one other fellow. Its part of what makes bf so dull.
Come on guys...go out and pedal
