I just purchased a used 2002 R2000 CAAD 5 cdale and i wanted to hear some suggestions on what wheel set to buy for the up coming racing season. Right now its running a pair of Elites but I feel these are way to heavy. I am not a heavy rider only 140 lbs so I can practially ride any wheel set out there. My budget for the wheelset is going to be about 1000$'s. I will be racing Road and Crits and I am also not that good of a spritner much more ability at climbing so I dont think I need a stiff wheel set just Light. So If anyone would like to throw out some ideas that would be great. Thanks.

Go to ebay and look for a pair of zipps, either a 303 or 404, you can usually find them under a grand there.

No, they retail for $1599 and they won't be available until Feb. They cost more then the other wheelsets due to the use of an exotic military resin used.

Trust me on this, I know a guy that works for Zipp, they retail for 1599. They are more expensive then there 303's and 404's which retail for 1349. Where did you get 1200 from?

And relax, whats wrong with him letting him know when there available.

What is this exotic military resin? what does it do for the rim?

The military spec resin allows for a stronger rim with less resin. Since it isn't a deep dish rim the carbon rim isn't nearly as strong, so the opted for a stronger resin for more strength.

How much are the 202's weighing in at. I saw that the 303 700c tubulars weighed in at 1150 which is pretty nice. And i think I could also swing a pair. Also I wrote to zipp asking to get sponsored, anyone know how selective they are?
