Deda Newton mass

I weighted two 42cm o-o's in a local shop, and got 250 and 240 grams (10 gram precision). A Ritchey Comp, which is around 35% of the price (and not even Ritchey's top alloy bar) was 240 g in the same width (40cm c-c).

From the listings, I conclude they hit spec @ around 34 cm :

Ritchey should claim 100grams for the WCS stem so they get a fair go.

Even though this is weight weenies, the Deda bars are MUCH stiffer and in my opinion have a better shape.

I was fortunate enought to throw a EA 70 42cm c-c on a scale before purchasing. Was 296g, 240 claimed, for the 40cm, I suppose. So, do they buy their scales in Italy?

After this I was going for the Newton or Supernatural

The Deda and the FSAs tend to both run about 20% over. Ridiculous. It's bad enough they make claims for their own stuff. It's just as bad on-line retailers perpetuate for fraud. I'll cut a 10% margin, but more than that, in a small size, is just a lie.

All the Ritchey stuff I've weighed comes in close to spec. In a local shop, a 10cm WCS 4-axis was an impressive 107 grams. I weighed a pair of 42cm o-o Deda Newtons @ 240 and 250 grams (consistent with the listings data, in the plot). A Ritchey Comp handlebar, same width as the Newton (40cm c-c), 1/3 the price, was 240 grams. And that's not even their high-end alloy bar.

Not only that... I have weighed both Newton and Magic bars on the same scale (same size and shape) and both come in at EXACTLY the same weight... (251 grams)
