What's the spoke count?? Looks like it's only a 2-cross lacing on both the disc side and the non-disc side. Wonder what the rear looks like.

With only a 2-cross lacing and having the same pattern on both sides (verses a 3-cross on disc side and a 2-cross on non-disc side) I can't imaging that it's very stiff.

Any news on performance??

Probably will be flexy as hell, even worse than my brother's Crossrocs.

Lousy, IMHO. Low spoke count + quite lightweight rim = lots of trouble. Let's face it - these wheels are for show only. I wonder if the hubs were lighter with regular (round) and drilled flanges. Surely, they would not look so amazing then and we all know this sport is more about appearance than function ;-)

I actually have a set of these, for a MTN bike project I shelved in favor of my FRM Brama road bike. My wife stopped me from building two bikes, so I built the MTN bike for her. She says they are nicer than the FRM Comp/Ritchey wheels she had before, and they have held up okay (better than her collarbone).

Looks very nice but functionality wise, will it hold? I completely agree with bladteth that this could be use for show only. This will not hold half a season of hard mountain biking. On the streets? Definitely.

For Ye Olde Balde One - since you have this wheelset, have you ridden you wife's bike just to test the performance of the wheels. Maybe you can prove us wrong.

I've ridden it just to play around in the mountains on off days (when I want exercise but don't want to head out on the roads).

Under my weight (175lbs right now) they are plenty stiff (I'm a big gear masher) and seem robust. Certainly they have never needed truing in the time she has had them. Personally if I did build myself a MTN bike I would buy them again.
