New WW - My new BMC SLC01

Not a pure WW machine but I'm a proud new owner and wanted to share.

Updated the pictures as since I broke my knee I seem to have some time on my hands. No weight yet as looking for a scale so happy to take recommendations. One for parts and one for the bike would be good in time for my next planned build.

First - the bike looks great.

How does the BMC ride? I've heard that the head tube / front end can be a bit flexy, especially when cornering. Have you encountered this? I was thinking of getting one but am concerned about this.

Mine as shown was 15.9lbs on bike shop's scale, SRAM Force build kit.

I don't get flex in it other than the front fork a little (I think that's not un-common for the Easton fork), I'm also 185lbs before gear. The bike is very stable and corners extremely well at speed.

In the smaller frame sizes it isn't really an issue... and for bigger frame sizes ('07 and earlier) a stiffer fork fixes any issues that people complain about as the ec90slx is a light, but flexy, fork... . '08 frames have a different layup around the BB on bigger frames now too, reducing torsional flex.

love the bike btw. I have been riding the same in 61cm - and is the best cornering bike i've ever been on in a large size - even despite the supposed 'excessive flex' in the frame that others speak of. How it performs on a test bed, and how it performs on the road are two different things, seemingly.

I love the bike. Took it to the Alps a couple of months ago and the bike handled immaculately. Cornered and held its line really well and even coped well with rapid changes of line over poor road surfaces.

What I did find though was a lot of steering flop at low speed when climbing especially when standing but I couldn't put it down two flex. Other than that the only issue I have is with the internal cable routing which seems to have some effect on the shifting and to date i have been able to get it to shift as like shimano intended dura ace to shift but that could be down to my ability as a spanner more than anything else!

I had 3 SLC01's each a warrenty replacement due to a known issue with cable routing, gave up in the end and bought an addict.

i don't like large framed bikes, but understand needs must. yours is a really nice set-up.
