Do you mean a trueing stand?
I bought one of these:

although from ebay since probike won't sell them outside the UK.
Seems to be very well made, stable, no play... and folds up neatly.

I Have a Minoura 'pro' one that came with a dishing tool. It does the job, plenty solid, tough enough for regular home use. The Park one is priocey but is real workshop quality if you plan to make a lot of use of it. That Pro one above looks a bargain, get a dishing tool as well and i imagine it would do just fine.

I thought I'd try this a number of years ago. The only thing I can compare it to is buying a guard dog and barking yourself. After tedious lacing the finger numbing truing I built one set. Not very succesfully. I took them to be trued and the guy had to virtually rebuild them. How much do you value your time?

Lol, i guess it depends on natural aptitude, not that I'm saying you probably have all left thumbs rather than fingers or anything...

Its like DIY on the house. I can earn the money to pay for it in a comfy warm office while someone else crawls around on their knees or gets covered in dirt. I draw the line at drilling holes and hanging pictures.
On the bike I do minor adjustments but if it involves a strip down and rebuild of anything major it goes to the LBS.

I built up my first wheel a couple weeks ago. Took me a little time to get it right but I really enjoyed it. If you like building things & you understand what you are getting into I think it can be really rewarding.

ahh, the art of wheelbuilding. I don't mind doing it for myself, but for others...
