You know when you wake up with a hangover and find that you've just ordered something stupid on E-bay? This is the same sort of thing, but for bike designers: This is what you find when you come into work with a hangover after your 'continetal' lunch turns into a propper drinking session yet you still made it back to work!

Did De Rosa "jump the shark" with this offering? I don't know if people outside of the US will get the meaning of this...and I don't even know if many Americans will get it. You can Wikipedia the phrase if you want.
