Hopefully some company will step up. It always amazes me how much sponsorship is involved in Golf. The UCI should do something with the ASO to promote the sport globally - particularly in North America and Asia. It can't keep relying on the Germans.

Sorry that is nonsense. Not Sinke ruined the sport, the cheaters did. Sinke isnt talked to because he talked, not because what he did with a syringe.

he didnt ruin the sport, and he didnt ruin t-mobile, unless you have an enviably simple view on these things. Even if his act drove the last nail in tthe coffin, nobody would have snubbed him for that (everone still seems to talk to Virenque who killed Festina, Basso and Riis, who killed CSC, and Vino who killed Astana, and Landis who killed Phonak...

The sport has been slowly growing in North America with major stage races like Tour of California, Georgia, Missouri, there are talks of a Tour of Russia and Tour of China. These things take time though, especially in a developing country like China.

I think we are saying the same thing. Sponsorship will end but team will continue under another name. I presume that T-mobile will pay for ending the sponsorship that would have gone till 2010. Presume that money will cover the 2008 season.

so what happens to the riders are they all looking for new jobs or do the team have another major backer to up the funding. i know it s not been a good year for cycling but at the end of the day they want publicity for a product and they have certainly got it,
