My old hardtail is an 8yr Ti frame with Pace RC35s and an XT group. Currently using it as my communter bike with slick tyres and thinking about taking it singlespeed. Could end up with a similar bike to yours! Probably going to stick to Vs though.

Is it a 'Forge' chain tensioner you're using? Also did you have any other issues/problems dropping the gears?

8 yrs old and still going strong, just shows you how solid and reliable Ti is
No it's a Pauls Melvin a heavy one at that, claimed is 76g and mine weighs in at 102g!
Forge is no more however I did receive an email from the engineer who made designed and fabricated their parts....he is going to start up again I believe.
I'm hoping I can rig a Spicer Cycles chain link to get rid of the tensioner and keep the simple lines of an SS build.
I'm actually returning to the UK today so no riding yet

Still not a proper SS though- no horizontal dropouts. Very nice though- what brakes are those?

....they're Formula B4 SLs and very nice too.

By the way, having one gear surely qualifies it as a singlespeed! Horizontal dropouts just make the whole chain tension thing less of a problem - and limit your choice of frame.

What do you guys think about setting up a singlespeed forum on here?

Yes they are the alu from Stans, I haven't given them a complete work out yet but will report back once they are bedded in.
Yeah i had my mechanic check the bike over to make sure I hadn't missed anything and he took a link out.
New pic of the bike attached with a couple of mods since the last photo.
My weights according to my spreadsheet sits the bike at 14.89 lbs.

Hey, do you have a spec sheet? It would be awesome to see the weights, but components would be cool too. I'm gonna be building a singlespeed soon, with similar specs (hopefully), so it would be a great help.

Eurorider - yes it does accelerate very quickly although I haven't given it a good thrashing as I'm having issues with disc brakes currently.
