Since the spokes are not steel, I hypothesize that they are not as consistent or elastic.


Steel spokes wear out, but it takes a good long time. The Zicral (or whatever) spokes are undoubtedly strong and durable, but impossibly as consistent as a steel spoke. In the real world, proponents show that this doesn't matter.

Two much weight in the rider, two less in the rear wheel. Be careful with this, the ultimates rear wheels are not for everybody
