I've entered the Cat 4 support race before the finish on Saturday in Glasgow. End of season lungbuster. Might hang on for a lap ot two. I'll need more than a light bike to help me. Check out the Scottish Cycling website, no link, apologies.

Steve,

Highly recommended you join us. Still over one week of training time. There should be a few of us sub Cat 4 untermenschen trying to hang on. Roads will be closed and I would hope the City Council will have fixed any big holes.

Last training run from Halford's, Braehead shopping centre at 6pm on Tuesday.

Regards

Alan

The first road stage of the ToB was today, from Reading to Southampton. I went along to the stage start at Palmer Park. PP has a 460m outdoor concrete cycle track (a good training venue on winter tuesday and thursday evenings) and that made it a natural place to host the start village and sign-on. The race proper got under way at 10.30. The kids of Palmer Park Velo led the ToB riders for a processional lap round the track, then the race exited PP for a neutralised procession through Reading before the racing began. The atmosphere at PP was great and I was able to wander round and take pictures. To tell the truth, for me it was more fun and less stressful than the TdF stage 1 in London in July.

I'd like to post some of the pics I took but this topic has been moved to Cycle Chat in which it is apparently not possible to post pics. Why is that? Are all future discussions of visiting a race going to get moved to this forum in which you can post any photos?
