So, my silly season continues. After the Eurobike madness of constant meetings and my even more constantly ringing mobile phone, then the euphoria of being part of a winning World Champion's campaign in Scotland, today saw the start of the IFMA show in Cologne.

IFMA is really more about recreational cyclist and trekking bikes. All the same, Shimano, SRAM and all of the big players in the German market are there (not Canyon though  ). We were there too, but it was quiet today, so I got to look around and snapped a few interesting things for WWs.

This is in Cycling Chat because I think these things are interesting for MTBers and Roadies, as technologies transfer and feed each other.

First off, there was an interesting Carbon exhibition showing what the black stuff is about, and how it has evolved.

And look at that lovely carbon finish on the hub....

Addict Limited.

This Giant frame interested me. Is that normal?

So then I was just riding along....

So the tube is split in two down the middle..... cool.

Image

Blingy saddles....

Stefan and the CS crew weren't there. But a couple of pairs of Challenge 700s were. One on the Scott booth, and one on this bike.

Image

Nice details

Image

Unimpressive weight though, considering the parts and the Lightweights on it.
Image

The Microshift / Stirmy Archer / SunRace group was there too.

The Microshift stuff at Eurobike was very very impressive. I think this is the same. I was told 105 price for a 195g rear mech. Awesome. The shifting was chrisp and precise with their shifters, and it is all Shimanski compatable so it is all good. Jerry at Microshift is someone I need to email, as I think I will buy one to test.

Image

This SunRace alloy cassette is 104g. I think this stuff could be interesting for us WWs. :D

Image

The grey stuff was everywhere. Seems like Shimano had a load of the 960 XTR colour finish to use up!

SRAM were showing their new under bar 10speed shifter. (shown at EB too)

Image

Double tapping on MTBs soon?

Image

My favourite thing today though was the concept bikes.....

Wow.... I mean..... wow..... this is cool.

Sworski cristal...

I wouldn't want to ride it though.

The new Scale limited is sexy. Very sexy.

Image

Where is that Principia frame.... this frame was interesting. Familiar?

Image

Image

This bike though, this is the bike for my buddy Tim.

Right.... that's me done!
