Light Weight Bolts
Moderator: robbosmans
Anyone know of any place I can get lightweight screw and bolts. I am not familiar with what all the sizes are that I currently need, but I would like to just send all of the screw and bolts I have to someone and have them make the equivalent in Ti or aluminum. Does Bike Tune Services do this (there link is in the links section, but its not in english)?

It doesn't say in your profile where you are from but if you're in the UK check out www.tastynuts.com , they mainly do stuff for motor sport but stock all the common sizes needed for bikes (M5, M6) in several different head types and lengths.
Bolts are available in aluminium or titanium, anodised in different colours even the ti ones are available in gold or blue.
They also do custom stuff if you can provide them with samples or technical drawings.

If you want to hve a really light bike you should be prepared to learn some things. I know it be frustrating sometimes but if you put some time and energy into it you'll get it.
One thing that has helped me with nuts and bolts is a caliper. Here's a pic of one. be sure to get one that is in metric. They're not that expensive and they will tell you what size things are. Here is a site you can buy one at. They come in different qualities. www.woodcraft.com
