they're great tires! i had continental gp force & attack before but the paribas are much better. also had a ride with a friend's bike on michelin tires which i didn't like as much as my paribas but this comparison is apparently a bad one because i am used to my bike and not to his...Robg wrote:How do the pariba's perform?
I always used michelin pro2race, until now. I'm using vitorria's open corsa cx at the moment. Just love these tires, pro2race is very fast, but the corsa's are just a little more comfy at the same pressure. Also cornering feels a little more confident with the corsa's compared to the pro2race.
A friend of mine just started using the pariba revolution and he is also loving this tire. Think I might have to give them a try when the corsa's are worn out!

Gorgeous, that's how an Madone should look like. A new Recordgroup or just an Ultra Torque crank so. The crankset was the only thing that I don't love.

Hope you enjoy your ride to. I have one also.
Mine was down to 6.7kg with bonti carbon clinchers, computer etc.
Have really enjoyed it and have put about 4000k's on it without any issues.
Regards Mal

Me as well. Nicest Trek I've seen. I also think it would look better with the Camapg Ultra Torque. Well done.

It will definitly look better with a campagnolo ultra torque crankset. The FSA crankset is the only part of the bike I don't really like.
Not a big trek fan here either, I like my kit a little more esoteric, but that is one gorgeous Madone, excellent build, especially the stealth grey look. While a new UT crank might be nice you also have a good smattering of red and white logos, on the Zipp's, seatpost, and crank, so they all fit together nicely for me with the small touches of red on the frame... Top notch job!

thanks for all the positive comments as to your negative comments about the sl-k crankset, i should have mentioned that i plan to buy a 2008 campagnolo record group including, of course, an ultra torque crankset (probably the ct version). i had the old 2003 9sp record group at home and also the sl-k crankset. those old parts had been on my old ride which i sold last september as sonn as i had ordered this new frameset. here's a picture of the old bike:
Its a Trek and I love it!!!
Oh, the shame!!!
Oh, the shame!!!
