How light is a WW cross bike?

Hey folks, wanted to put the question out there that sort of came up in my last post.

How light does a cross bike have to be to be a WW cross bike?

How much does your bike actually weigh?

my actual weight is currently just about 20 lbs. for a 56cm bike.

I have some parts on order to get it down to a more WW level.

I have a Ridley Crossbow at 8.8 kg... I just used parts that I had lying around... could be a lot lighter, but I only use it for training / commuting...

I also have a 2005 crossbow. Only kind of special light part is the FIR SC200 tubular rims laced to DT-Hugi hubs which I never used on the road. The rest is a mix of things I had laying around and parts I could get my hands on for little money. It weighs about 8,5 kg, so a weightweenie crossbike could be at least 7,5 kg, maybe less.

I've raced 2 cross seasons with a bike below 7.7kg, even close to 7.0kg in national championship-trim.

So a weight limit of 7,5kg seems Right to me!

Ritchey swisscross 56 with a really cool spec and lightweight wheels!
no need to say that gaining speed after cornering wasn't a problem?

This weekend I heard that the light version of the Ridley X-Night that Bart Wellens & Co. are riding weighs in at 6,8 kg
The new Colnago C-50 the raboguys ride should weigh about 7,5 kg.
I think below 7,5 kg would qualify as a weight weenie bike

Also I used some alu bolts I had laying around here and there, don't remember exactly but this should be the chainringbolts and the seatbinder-bolt. (stemcap bolts didn't work in alu, the handlebars were to loose)

Depending on the wheels I use the bike weighs in at about 8,7 kg (weighed it again just to be sure ;o) Don't know how accurate this is as my accurate weight only weighs up to 5 kg and I didn't bother taking everything apart again.

As you see not really light weight but building this bike didn't really cost my much money as I used a lot of parts I had laying around and it still turned out pretty sweet I think ;o)
