Equinox wheels

Just heard of a pretty new development over at ComoBike.com. They have exclusivity on a new carbon wheel made by the same guys who produce campy and fulcrum. The brand is known as "Equinox" with a variety of wheel choices. Maybe some of you guys know more about them but if you dont I'm sure Brent at comobike would be happy to tell you more ( info@comobike.com ) From what I gather prices are supposed to be very keen indeed.



Any thoughts on these guys?.......

Those wheels are getting made in Taiwan, Equinox is the factory name.
Equinox is the Gigantex’s carbon rim factory.
It is 100% owned and operated by Gigantex’s management and technical groups.
Those wheel models does exist already for years.

The top graphic that LJ used is also used directly on the Gigantex website as well to show their rims/wheels, though I'm not sure if they were branded or not - but it was an identical layout and design.

Hi,

Those rims are on the heavy side and are exactly the same as you'd find on a lot of the cheaper carbon wheels.
Same rims, different hubs, different spokes if need be and off you go.....

I'm at the Taipei Bike Show now, toyed with the 50mm carbon clinchers, very nicely done rims and with the standard package, its rated at 1550g for a 20/24 configuration. Its at a sweet spot in terms of weight for fast rolling courses and also its 50mm aero. With better hubs and spokes, bringing it into the sub 1500g range shouldn't be too difficult as the rim weight is 530g or something in that range.

They don´t produce 23mm height rim anymore.Would not recomend to buy anything from Gigantex.The rims are not that good.Bought a pair just for testing and the rest you already know......
