Not too hard to understand?
Hi!
We don't know each other. Not very civil of me to call you names. I am sorry. It stirs my emotions to see someone so clearly out to lunch. The thing is HOLLOW, for goodness sake! Sheesh!
However, you used the word "critics" critically, yet post pictures of your project for us to talk about. Next time say, "please do not discuss the pros and cons of this project, only tell me the nice and beautiful things I want to hear."
I was in no way "flaming" you, I just couldn't watch that one go by without saying anything.
I'm really not an ass....most of the time.

Lol, I was joking.
They look very nice.
I had to do the same thing to my k2 razorback frame, sand 400, sand 600 wet and then 800wet.
Then I polished like crazy.. They came out nice and I was going to anodize them but then realized they lookd perfect the way they are.

I knew that the same time the 950 cranks came to public knowledge.
I wanted to see how thick that was and a U formed profile is quite stiff too.
Do some FEMing and see it for yourself.
You all know how thick a 950 crank are, mostly by me.
So something productive from you than badmouthing?

Left crank ready to go 190 grams.
The finished result is bottom as you can see.
I will maybe carve in the spider and polish that but i´m not sure yet.
Time and result ratio.

Did the drive arm sanding and polishing today.
Total weight of cranks alone is 361 grams, not too bad when original ones weigh a bit more.
I will do some spider tuning tonight, grinding away the granny ring holes and make it 2x9.
Spider alone weigh without locknut 56g, managed do some coarse grinding to 48 gr, could squeeze out a little more.
Lockring weigh 5 grams, no grinding planned on this.
Not too bad when I paid about 50 EUR for 4 crank arms and 3 spiders.
But a BB will I buy new shimano original if not anyone have better idea?

I don't think you have a choice if its octalink. I think shimano make the only options. And the 9series ones....(dura ace and xtr) may fit.

I'ld buy an Ultegra for 2*9. Less expensive and more durable then DA.

So far I know about XTR octalink is not all octalink BB will fit because of the shorter splines on the XTR cranks.
So I think I must stick with XTR BB all the time with no alternatives?
