Hello ,

My Name is Rene from the Netherlands. I've got a Pinarello Paris Carbon in the IB team colours 7,3 Kg at the moment.
Thinking of buying the new M5 wheels for this summer so the bike will be bellow 6,8 Kg :P . The new M5 carbon wheels for clincher tires are about 1220 Grams incl. M2 titanium screwers. The rim will be a 38 mm carbon rim and will be guaranteed to 9,5 bars pressure, and it's also availlable for tubes.

I've been to the shop of Bram Moens , masterbuilder of lightweight stuff, and have got an interview with Ronald , his compagnion. They've showed me an verry light seatpost/ saddle combination which is made for them.

Here is a pic of the bike :

Yes 1232 grammes incl. M2 screwers.

2x Carbon 38 mm rim for clincher tires = 770 gram.

48 Cx ray spaken 20 / 28 black+ nipples = 236 gram.

2x M5 hub, ceramic bearings 20 / 28 = 192 gram.

2x M2 titanium screwer = 35 gram.

Totally weight = 1232 gram

It's not build for them alone and isn't new...

Thanks for the comments on my bike,

This week I was thinking about a new set of wheels to get the bike sub 6,8 Kg. I was thinking about the M5 wheels for clinchers or the Campagnolo Hyperon for tubulars. what would you suggest , and why ?

Thnx Rene :)

LJ I saw you had the Hyperon wheels also in combination with the Pinarello bike , and do you like to ride them ?

Are you sure about the weight of the two hubs? 192g for front + rear? I realize people are doing some crazy things with hubs these days but that seems a little optimistic.

Today my bike lost a full 100 grams. I got the new M2 screwers .....39 grams compared to the 141 of the campagnolo ones. :P
