Custom painted CR1 - 5,14Kg
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
Hi folks,
let me present you my "new old" ride. After lots of hours in my cellar, sanding and repainting my Cr1 frame, I received the last parts today and finished the build-up.
I cannot describe how happy I am with the way everything turned. It's amazing to look at something that required such a big effort when it's finally done. Also, I wasn't even sure if I could finish it at all, but I'm more than satisfied with the result.
The bike is even lighter than before, although i expected the paint to add enough weight after the sanding-process, to make it much heavier.

Congrats - it seems likethe evolution of this bike has been happening for a while, but it looks like things may have approached their finale(for the moment), and I'm really glad you've got the bike to a stage where you're really happy with it. It's brilliant, and with all the work you've put into it, I hope you enjoy it. It's a great bike...To be honest, your making me jealous, to be able to put so much time and effort nto building and setting up your bike - it's not just a kit bike where the excel spreadsheet is the biggest extent of the work...its amazing
now all we have to do is put together a group sale for SRM's again

Dude, where are you?
I like the paint job, think it look very good. Better than we imagined. I think the mechs look a little odd though. They would either look better it is was carried through onto the brakes and the ergos, or if they were still stock.
That said, I know it is very difficult to make a decent judgement just from the pictures here, and you need to see it in person.

Thanks guys, i'm glad you like it. The paintjob polarizes pretty much, and some members of other forums dislike it.
@Kuiper: The naked frame was 857 grams, the naked fork was 274. The weight of the frame with original paint was 915grams, of the fork 280grams.
@Skillgannon: Couldnt have said it better! Thanks buddy
@Rich: I think you may see it in person pretty soon
Thanks again for all the nice comments.
Here's a picture with the other drive-train setup:
