it ain't heavy...

... it's very heavy . My weenie budget goes on the road bikes but I wanted a 'cross bike for hacking around my local trails this winter and to be a bit more challenging than an MTB on the same terrain so I threw this together. No idea what it weighs, my scales probably don't go that high(!) but on the other hand the steel frame is lively but like riding a magic carpet! Most of the bits are secondhand/out of the spare parts box. Great fun.
Apologies for the non-weenie post, just wanted to show my 'lighter side' if you see what I mean!

Fantastic!
I'm also an owner of a Cross Check. I weighted mine once at 11.0kg, and while my scale has no problems reading that high I was a little concerned that the structural roof-member holding the scale might collapse
Are those Frogs brakes?

Ah ok.
Theres a bridleway like that down by a campsite in N. Devon.
Nice stair set at the bottom.
