I was using '05 Record mix with Dura Ace Hollowtech 2 crankset which I transfered to my Look 585.

The groupo is great! A significant improvement would be the new Ultra Torque system which is stiffer and the QS shifting on the FD. :)

I agree. I am using 2001 Veloce on one bike and 2007 Record on the other. The QS is far faster for the front shift. Otherwise the the function is the same between the two in terms of the levers.

The Ultra Torque cranks stiffness reminds me of when I switched from some old LX cranks to Hollowtech II XT. The stiffness is really noticable and the q factor is still low. They really are great.

Can I use the new QS levers with a pre-QS front der.? Will it work ie shift faster, or shift "slow"?

There's a slight changes in the design of the QS FD. It has a slightly longer and fatter arm where the shifter cable is tightened. I guess this contributes to a faster shifting versus the older version.
