Greetings:

I'm looking for a real light seatpost with significant setback. I have a Thomson Masterpiece and a Deda blackstick, but both of these are about 1cm short of the setback I need.

Anyone know setback how much the AX Daedelus has?

thanks in advance,

Jens

Thanks guys. Just checking around, it looks like most posts are 25mm or less of setback. According to competitive cyclist, the EC90 is 23.

I'm thinking about this one now, though:

A little heavy, but it looks like it can go way back. Anyone know the true weight on it?

easton ec 90 152 grams just replace a fsa seatpost that came in at 207 grams. you can find lots of ec90's on ebay. i think competitive cyclist is too proud of their prices for components. they do have some good sales though but really no seatpins are being offered right now. swim around ebay and maybe you can find what you need.

I just went to Ritcheys site and good lord you are right. Wow 45mm seems like an insane amout of setback though.

The Ritchey WCS 45 mm "wayback" seatpost was developed by request from the Scott CR1 pro riders because of a special geometry of the CR1. The new Addict doesn't have the special CR1 geometry, so maybe the extreme setback isn't necessary when they switch to the Addict?
Chris Horner was one of the riders using the wayback seatpost:

Horner is also using new version of Ritchey's WCS carbon fiber seatpost, with extra setback - 45mm instead of the usual 25mm. The post, known internally as Ritchey as the 'wayback' was developed in response to requests from some of Ritchey's sponsored riders and will be available to everyone else in 2006.

Ritchey post with extra setback is a 2006 model released early to Horner.

24 mm of setback for the AX Lightness Daedalus.

Per the Ritchey web site http://ritcheylogic.com/web/Ritchey~Log ... arbon.html it appears to be the case that the wayback (45 mm setback) post is only available in 31.6, and not in 27.2. Is this the case?

At least six months ago it was - I emailed and asked. Suspect they're concerned about a smaller diameter with that much leverage.
