I am not sure if you are aware, but it is not sunscreen that most apply before races, but some type of heating embrocation.
Qoleum Hot Embrocation

Lighter.
God points, both of you. It never came to my mind that a race could be unsupported (unless it's a crit, where you just have spares along the parcours), guess there are still huge differences between racing in or outside europe.

[/quote]I'm aware, I just don't care...sunscreen works fine, I'm not good enough to notice much difference, plus I burn easily...in case you didn't notice I'm pretty pale at the beginning of the season, although I do tan and stop wearing sunscreen near the end of the season.

hey, nothing wrong with a little sunscreen, skin cancer isn't pro.
Rule #1. Superheroes Wear Tights
I just found this pic while browsing around in my pc and thought it's not bad.
I was at the top of Pico del Veleta (Spain, over Granada), a couple of years ago.
The pic was taken a couple of hundred meters from the top, at about 3400 meters (11.155 ft)! Of course that is the highest point I reached on a bike. I was on the road bike, the last ~600 meters are unpaved but the rest is in very good condition.
