Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
Hi WeightWeenies!
Some of you know this bike already, especially the user of the german TOUR-Forum. I changed a lot of parts over the last 5 years. But the most expensive and maybe the most interesting change I did two days ago.
After 11 months of waiting my Lightweight Ventoux at last arrived.
So I won't withhold you my bike, which will retire in November, when my new frame arrives.

Very nice bike but, hmmm, the manual which comes with the Syntace F99 clearly states that you should NOT use it with a 1" fork and shim. It is supposed to be dangerous.
And if I ever meet an aardvark, I'm going to step on its damn protruding nasal implement until it couldn't suck up an insect if its life depended on it.
There's only one word to describe the ride: smooth!Luc wrote:Cool !

They feel very stiff and still very comfy.
If you understand german, then read my little report of the first ride. http://forum.tour-magazin.de/showpost.p ... stcount=29
This is right. But: I ride (188 cm/70 kg) the F99 since 2003 and there are so far no problems. Syntace is very careful with the F99, especially with the torque. I think they write it in the manuals, cause too many users tightened the bolts too hard in the past. If you use the Ti bolts, the max. torque is 6 Nm for the steerer and 4 Nm in use with the Schmolke bar. And: I still use a stem which has to be changed by the recall. (This I will do in the winter.)Timo wrote:Very nice bike but, hmmm, the manual which comes with the Syntace F99 clearly states that you should NOT use it with a 1" fork and shim. Thanks for the explanation. On a sidenote, do you know if the normal and extralight Schmolke bars have a weightlimit for the rider?

I dont't know exactly what the weight limit is. But both bars can be customized to the rider weight.Timo wrote:Thanks for the explanation. On a sidenote, do you know if the normal and extralight Schmolke bars have a weightlimit for the rider?
MfG,

There was a TLO for sale in the Tour-Forum. On request at Schmolke the rider weight should be okay at 70-75 kg.
It will be a SPIN gato. But psssst. ;)Pinarello wrote:What is going to be your new frame?

But it's just a simple and not a very good photo composition. In a few weeks you'll get more information.
