Not much of a weightweenie... hope you don't mind, consider it an off-season 'fling'!
I started my racing career on one of these (with gears!), lovely ride so to find another one, tatty, on fleabay for bugger all ££ was the ideal excuse for this - it's a 1990 Merckx Corsa Extra SLX frame, cleaned of braze-ons and refinished. The wheels are Phil hubs on Ambrosio Excellence rims (ultimately destined for a very special project), the cranks are 1990 vintage Chorus, as is the NOS monoplanar front brake. Bars and stem are lovely NOS 3TTT stuff, Flite saddle and an ITM post (for now)! I was in a dilemma over whether or not to fit a rear brake - I have a matched pair of the monoplanar calipers and the top tube cable routing is internal so it would be a very tidy job... but decided I like the cleaner lines without!

I love the hubs ad the bars!
Nice work!

Beautiful!
Did you consider fitting the other brake lever - just so you can ride on the hoods, even if there is no rear brake?

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

That sure is a nice fixey Love the clean lines of it, but was thinking the same, wouldn't it be comfortable to be able to ride in the hoods every now and then?
Enjoy the ride and be carefull the bike won't throw you off when you forget that you can't stop pedalling

it's OK without the left hood actually, I may stick a dummy on there - cane creek do a solid 'hood' for use on tandem stoker bars.
Re pedalling... hehehe, hopefully I'm well past that after 3 winters of riding fixed!

Nice.
Question - what is it w/ the fixed gear community and taking pictures of their bikes in front of tagged walls, other than it being the cool thing to do?

I don't live in the city, I think this is the only bit of wall like it within a 100 mile radius... I jut like it, makes a nice backdrop but I know what you mean....!
