Should be on the CX forum I know but way more people visit the "road" section so... I want to build tubular wheels for the 04 cross season, as wheels will only be used for 2-3 months Max I do not want to spend a fortune. Durability for servicing and strength are my other main concerns.
Light weight is nice but not a major issue.
I have 340gram 32h rims, thought Dura ace hubs but seals are so-so for $200+ hubs and not too light. Ultegra heavier and crappier.

Spokes, what about Sapim CX rays I have never heard people use them for cross. Thinking 2x with 3x drive side.

Any ideas greatly appreciated, give me an idea of $$ if possible. I weigh 140lbs (63kg) so light wheels are fine for CX.

Drive-Side: 14/15g spokes with Alloy Nipples laced 3 cross
Non-Drive-Side: 14/17g spokes with Alloy Nipples laced 2 cross

Are those rims Ambrosio Crono?
Sapim CX-Ray is ok, front: radial/crossed, rear: crossed.
Hubs: Dura-Ace/Ultegra. For cyclocross, the wheel has to be strong but not superstrong, but the hubs have to be very durable

Sounds reasonable, any particular spokes? how about hubs, campag??

Campagnolo or Shimano are both good, buth Record/Chorusand even Centaur are lighter than DA.

Thats what i was thinking, duraace are good but not great seals and a bit pricey for the weight. Any other sugggestions for hubs.

No, old Wolber ones, cant remember the model - low profile grey anodized. I have 4, heaviest is 342g lightest 336g.

I think Chorus is a good choice, cheap and strong.
The spokes just go for DT, cheap and it just works.

For cross, Ultegra, Chorus, etc will be more than enough. I have one front DuraAce hub, only because I got it dirt cheap. Just jumping from decent clinchers to tubies in cross is plenty of advantage.

My wheels are all laced 3x, with the front running Revolutions (28h). No issues, but I am pretty easy on wheels.

I just bought a pair of wolbers from a friend... They had never been laced or glued and I got them for 25 $ a pair!

As soon as I came home, I put them on the scales and was amazed at how light they are... 340grams!! Not bad for a pair of Ice Age rims...

I laced them to a pair of DA hubs with Hoshi 3x and will be using them for cobblestone rides (which there are a lot of in Belgium)

Wat about the DT Swiss Hugi 240s hubs?

Are they durable for cross, rain and mud?

It is possible to use the record hubs with shimano body?
