Ex-Koga from Belgium

Hey,
I'm an amateur racer from Belgium (also student...) and i was really proude with my Koga Full Pro M. Not really lightweight with 8.3kg (racing setup), but hey, i waited 6 months on it, due to problems with paint and seatpostcollar, so i was really pleased when i had it!
Rode fanstatic also!

Would be a bit lighter with my Ksyriums, but that day the race was flat with nice roads...
Now, noticed all the past tense??
Well, i had a little accident... Returning from a race, heading to my job (also work in the weekend) the bike fell of the bike carrier on the left lane of the motorway! Probably not well tightend in combination with the heat that stretched out the plastic holder, anyways, he fell off... Not to much damage untill a car ran over it... My heart broke...
stripped for the insurance expert, not to much damage on this side...
a little scratch here, oke bar was lost... (shifter pretty ok by the way, scratched but still working!)
Big problems over here!
Derailleurhanger was broken off (C a s r a n didn't like it anyway )
Rear derailleur now in 2 pieces
Wheel kinda broke too...
and the frame broken...
Enough crying, my other bike!
This one i bought last year because i crashed onto a van with my old bike (nice Gios A90-Ultralite) and had no bike left to race the last bit of the season. Second hand ProRace Viper with the old parts of the Gios.
Has been alterred a bit with the old parts of the Koga now and looks like this:
i know, it needs cleaning, but its raining, i have to study,...
specs:
Medium ProRace Viper (including 4Winn fork)
Chorus drivetrain: Chorus 03 rearder, Chorus 06 frontder, Chorus 06 brakes, carboncranks (i think FSA, not sure), Pro PLT stem, FSA RD200 bar, Look Keo, SxForce bidonhoulders, trainingwheels (Chorus hub and Ambrosio Excellight rim)
Now, the mtb...
I have one complete, the other one in progress. First the complete one:
Ridley Thunder 2002 with some upgrades: Xt rearder, LX-shifters and brakes. Heavy as hell 11.6kg (with crmo fork)!
saddle came from the Gios (all my bikes have Selle San Marco Concor Light)
The one in progress is missing: rearderailleur and shifters (ordered sram x0+x9triggers); headset (will buy one); seatpost, bars, seatpostcollar and barends (odered hopefully here today!).

Also, what were those wheels on the Koga?
Koga Miyata is a dutch brand, see www.koga.com
Novatec Carbon wheels, bought them as Token Carbons, without the stickers...

Jesus! How did your bike "fall" off the back of your car?
I use a fat Kryponite steel cable looped through the towing eye on the back of my car and D-lock the bikes to it. This protects them if you need to stop at the services quickly and also means if your rack fails it should catch the bike. The bike will be screwed still, but at least it wont go through the following cars windscreen.

Okay, my new MTB is done! Did this one all on my one and i'm proud of it! All second hand material, except the frame, crank and barends (student...)
Most difficulties encounterred at putting the cups of the headset in the frame (took me about 2 hours...). Not much photos during assembly, cus i wanted to finish the bike and go racing!
BUT... much photos afterwards!

I've made it a fixed gear, but not single speed... Still following?
I got an old tubular wheel (Nisi with a 6-speed Normandie '76 hub) and attached the body to the axle, so it won't stop when I stop pedalling. So I do have the advantage that a don't have to loose the rd, I can shift if I can't keep up with the pedals, but I don't have the advantage of a normal fixie that kinda keeps your legs turning (through the chain that gets a push from the wheel).
Great for long slow distance training. First one is allready done and I felt that it's hard to keep on pushing the pedals for 3 hours straight... But that training!

Theme: build a (really) cheap classic looking bike without gears.
Parts: Bianchi Vento frame, Mizuno 1" fork, Campa Sirocco or old Nisi wheels, Ritchey handlebar and stem, Selcof seatpost, Concor Light saddle, Campa Chorus crank, brake and ergopowers and Shimano Spd-R pedals.
Costs: 11 euro (star for fork and handlebar tape)
Looks: nice!
