Pointless post really but just kind of feeling good about cycling really... here's why... Ever had one of those Top Gun Moments, you know - riding your bike along the runway threshold on the way to work while an F-16 (I know the movie used F-14s but still…) beats up the runway at 100ft altitude just a few metres away…. kind of cool, happened to me again this morning. This time though was special 'cos it really was an F-16 accelerating under full afterburner, normally it's a boring old Hawk or Merlin…. I know it's all old hat and seen it all before but they're still impressive to watch when really having the stuffing wrung out of them.

Interesting contrast too… me on my extremely low-tech machine (fixed gear bike) on my way to work with hi-tech flying hardware…. this job ain't so bad really…..

:) I have that sort of feeling leaving work a lot. The road to Lockheed FW runs parallel to the Joint Reserve Base runway. We actually build the F-16's in our plant so it's pretty common to be just driving along and have them go whizzing right by your window. It's a little more intense if you're on the same road on a bike

If you ever go to St. Martin, go stand at the end of the runway by the beach and tiki hut bar.

You gotta love riding past airplanes, I do it many mornings on the way to the hangar where I work and I think it just makes you feel faster.

Hmmm It's all coming together now why Petacchi is so fast! I wonder how WW a JATO bottle would be

But do you have all those homoerotic beach volleyball games too?

:frightened:
This forum would be a better place if you had to know what you were talking about prior to posting. And if you took yourself less seriously.

Dont Lockheed have a special division for this? Perhaps they've renamed it "team building" :P

Come to think of it my engineering group just recently had a Beach volleyball tourney. However it wasn't at all like in the Top Gun movie. Picture Dilbert's office having a volleyball match.

Man that is a sleek plane, I miss working on stuff like that. I can't see in that picture, does that have the vectored thrust?

Moderator could you remove this please?

ok, it's not exactly about bikes, it's good clean fun so if you don't like it, there are many other threads you can read and respond too. I'm not trying to sound mean, you could just say, "back to topic."
I get warm fuzzies riding my bike and flying my airplane. :D

Whoops, I thought Matiz wanted to have his post removed.. Frankie
