Hi all WW members, thought I would add a pic of new frameset. It's nothing superlight but it weighs in around 7.6 kg as pictured, I think thats pretty good for a 60cm frame. I like the new Optimo frameset, I went from a CAAD 5 Saeco team frame and transfered all my parts. Like I said it's nothing like the super light bikes featured here, but hey I like it. :D

Nice ride you got there!

Yup I luv the color as well, as I stated it's a 60cm frame, as I'm a fairly big bloke @93kg, I don't want to get much lighter as this is my training bike and racing bike. I have a set of Cosmic Elites I train on, racing on the "K's" drops 1/2 a kilo and feels more responsive.

cheers

Salatel,
I had my first race on it today (40k), I sat up at the end and let some of the younger riders take 1st and 2nd. There was a nice hill in the middle, the bike went fantastic up it, nice and stiff in the BB area, it felt like all the energy you placed into it went to pushing you forward.
I have done this hill in earlier races but this frame seemed to help a little bit (even if it was only in my mind)

cheers

what was ur frame only weight for the 58cm? I just bought a 58c caad7 too and am waiting for it to arrive--it'd be interesting to see if the frame weights are near equal.

thanks

My new Optimo 60cm frame and fork weighed in at roughly 1.5kg ish, this was done on a dodgy scale, Thats with the new full carbon fork which weighs 310gm, where as my last CAAD 5 frame and fork sat at 1.7kg on the same scale.

I'd say.

You frame and fork weighs closer to 1600g-1650g

I have a 54cm 2004 Caad 7 and the frame alone weighs 1248g. Add 310g for the fork and I'm at 1558g.
