You're welcome - I'm just happy to confirm that my new Tune Kong Superscharf rear hub will be around 205 grams :-)

keep up the good work!

How come the rear hub is so light? Tune's claimed weight is 247 g while the actual weight is 209 g yet WW's claimed weight is 205 g :noidea:
Don't get it...

Hmm seem too have found the answer. But why is the Tune website wrong then?

nwmtb wrote:Spin.......the superscharf model is essentially an upgrade to either version of the Kong rear hub (ti, or alum), the upgrade consists of a carbon axle and ceramic bearings. These upgrades reduce the weight of the standard aluminum rear hub from 225 grams down to 205 grams at a cost of about $200 extra (yeeeooowwccchhh !!), bringing the price of the rear hub up to $500. From everything I've heard.....don't even think about this upgrade on a mtb, it's not durable enough and you'll probably break the axle.

Progress - have a look at the years in the listings:
back in 2000 the Kong Superscharf was claimed to weigh 247 g while the normal version was claimed at 264 g.
The '06 Superscharf version is claimed at 205 g.
