Hey guys I like "light" bikes but I also like steel lugged bikes. Do any of you guys have a "light" steel lugged bike?
Is there such a thing?
Thanks

I think you can find many a fine steel frame that is reasonably light (about 3.5 - 4 lbs) among most manufacturers, but serotta and seven are ones that stick out in my mind. Outfit it with weight-weenie parts and you can probably get it down to about 16 lbs, 15 maybe. But if you're going to spend that kind of money to make it that light you may as well get a Ti frame IMHO.

My main bike is a custom lugged steel bike. Depending on the lugs used, the weight isn't that much more than a TIG steel frame.

Would I build a real weight weenie bike with one? Probably not, more cost effective to use aluminum.

Waterford Bikes claims to make the lightest lugged steel bike with their 2200 1 1/8" series.

Cervélo and Ritchey are pretty light.
