hello all

i'm a mtbike racer, and i train a lot on the road, and i'll need a new bike next year.

There are some 'cross races in my area, and some mtbike races might be faster on a cross bike, soi was thinking about getting one, and getting a very cheap road wheelset to put on for training.
however, my price range is up to 1000,
any body have any suggsetions?
maybe a kona jake the snake?

thanks! :)

$129 frame...matching fork is only $40 odd. If you're an mtb rider you may already have a pair of cranks, pedals, seat post, seat, stem, and derailleurs lying around....pair of shifters, bars and wheels and you're off.

Specialized make a complete Tri-Cross for a reasonable price, not sure what that is is USD though.
