I do not know the Nibby Nic, i think that is heavy.

The Racing Ralph is lighter, i love it very nice tire for race and marathon. It is a very good tire, light and strong.

What do you mean with how do I find your scott?? What I think about the bike? I think It's awsome, a very nice setup no doubt, in not very fond of shimano, but It's a great group anyway, my mtb have this weight, but It's with V's and It's a Specialized M5 S-Works 2006

My Pro Racing frame is 1515 g. in size large.

I doubt the 04 model that DrSunn has is lighter. as far as I know only the decals have changed between 03 and 04

ok so the medium (without Vmounts) is 30g lighter. not much really.

I am thinking of replacing the dual controls with seperate shifters and other lighter V-Brakes. but I am waiting for the 07 XTR shifters and see how they work and how heavy/light they are.
further more I am planning to get a other lighter cassette. something like a KCNC or something like that.
But it aint going to happen very soon (after the summer I think, unless I find a great offer.)

Reason for that:

because I got a great offer for a Scott usa Expert racing 2003.
I loved the color of the frame from the beginning.
So I bought it, it is in exelent shape, it was owned by a guy who used it a few times but didn't have time for it and he stored in in his garage.

the only thing I change before the pic where the tyres, I put slicks on it because I used it abit on the road.
Apart from the tyres and the SPD the bike is completely stock.
but it won't stay like that.
I am not going to build it up as a super light bike.
I want to lighter it abit to around 9.5/10 kg. but it has to be strong and stiff.. a good overall bike for XC use
I already got a few parts for it:
Thomson Elite post and stem a Flite saddle and several tyres for dif use and some small p
I think of building it up with:
- XT shifting parts (mechs, shifters, crankset)
- Avid Juicy Ultimates
- Rock Shox Reba WC
- CK headset.

I have no clue what wheels to use (need disc wheels) and some small parts.

Same bike as I used to own... ) Frame weight was 1620 for M frame.
But when I changed to NRS the Scott was only 9.850 grams...
SID, F99, SLR and stuff like that.

yours is lighter... my frame scott racing expert 04 weights in size L 1641gramm (with alu cantis)
my dream frame is a black team issue 04 (his weight is 1150gramm in size M)

Schwalbe Nobby Nic Evolution 2.1" is 482 grams! If the track is a little loose a good combination is NN in the front for good grip and RR in the rear!

I will keep you updated on the Expert racing.
I will strip it down to the bone (frame) and see what it did weight (do it before the strip, the estimate by scott was 12.5 if I am not mistaken. I doubt I will have much trouble loosing weight till I reach a weight of around 10 kg. some parts are really heavy like the useless Judy TT wich is if I am correct 2.3 kg. (I measured one before, on a hanging scale... :p)

btw Thanks Skogling for the frame weight. this frame is a large just like my Pro Racing. I will see what weight it will have.

Get those tires off! You would loose positions in a race because of those And that's basically the only thing that I'd change on that bike except I'd get some disc brakes.

I weight the Pro Racing frame on a digital kitchen scale like many other do.
it was 1515 including the steel V-brake bosses. but I removed everything else including all the bolts and even the plastic cable guide on the bottem of the frame (and the bolt with it) so it is the bare frame.

I will weigh my Expert racing any day now, as soon as I know it I will post it also.

I hope to get this one just under the 10 kg. It won't be a superlight project.
