Got one from my local bike shop the other week around £12 each. So yes they are available and obscenely expensive

Pete, can you explain to those of us behind the times what the name plates are?

Cheers

The name plates are the shiney bits on the very top of the lever *nods*

Bardsley Cycles in Manchester (UK) he got a few in when I ordered mine so has them in stock but your local shop should be able to get them from Madison. PM me on here or on VR if you want any more info.

Yeah - but in a crash, so it's cool. I prefer a bike that has obviously been through a few things... :D

How do you replace the name plates? I´m building a bike for my girlfriend with an old ultegra group. I´ts been mine and have suffered from crashes and is "nicely" scratched.... So it would be nice to make them look "new" again.

I crashed mine in a race, so the levers have dents in the front of both plates, grr!

To remove, just pull the brake lever and you'll see a screw in the back of the name plate facing you, if you're standing over your bike. Just unscrew it 'n slip it off.

Bruiser -

There comes a point with any really nice piece of kit (and I used to get this when I was a bass player) where it acquires some dints and scratches. But I like that. These things are there to be used, bikes are there to be raced, and I think they look better when they obviously have been.

Why replace the name plates?

The chance of me replacing the plates is slim as I'll buy performance related parts first, however when you have a perfect machine you notice any blemishes. I can understand why you would replace them.

We have them at our shop... don't know the exact price, but is is a lot less then 12 pounds... more like 12 euros or so...

But then again, I do work at the cheapest bike store in the Benelux... and no, we don't ship anything, and certainly not little things like this... so don't pm me about it, please...
