I read the following on another board today.

Try a 4-1 ratio sports drink (4 carbs, 1 protein) it's shown that a little protein makes your pancreas secrete a lot more insuline than plain sugar, it'll drive those carbs straight into your muscles, you can make your own for a lot cheaper, just combine gatorade powder with a good qualitiy whey protein (I use Isopure from "Nature's Best"), make sure the protein is really low in fat, some low quality proteins have a lot of fat and you don't want that. Add a little salt to it if you'll ride for more than 2 hours.

The osmolality is very important.

Generally normal white sugar creates a high osmolarity and long sugar molecules creates low osmolarity. The low osmolarity makes it possible for the body to absorb it faster than if the energydrink has a high osmolarity.

Theese are the numbers, if you make a 10% drink

PurePower Carbo Race
42 mOm/kg

Maxim
84mOm/kg

High Five
88mOm/kg

Leppin
96mOm/kg

Extran
160mOm/kg

Isostar
394mOm/kg

get any sportsdrink that contains both Fructose and Maltodextrins for the best effect
the body can only take on a certain amount of energy from fructose if you add more it will go out with the urine but if you add Maltodextrins to the mix the body will get even more energy from the drink
so try Extran or Enervitene are two sportsdrinks that contain both kinds of carbs

Energy drinks are good for boost our self, and do our work as long as we want to do.But on the other hand it has some disadvantages as well. After certain period after drink our energy level goes down very fast, means all boost up gone like that. This ups and downs are quite injures for our health.Well i use some energy drinks but i tries not use to it.Just drinks in emergency case.
