Has anyone used this skewers? Do you need an allen wrench to mount them? (the info in the site is in german only). Are they rigid enough?

Are the rods for these carbon fiber? The pic looks like they are. I use a pair that have a Ti rod and they need a wrench. I found an aluminum wrench that has a steel alen set into the end that is very light. I just put it into my jersey pocket.

Having to use a wrench to function a QR is counter-productive on a non-supported time trial. Unless you have a team car, the time saved from such a lightweight part is of no advantage.

The weight isn't on the bike so there is weight saving there. The tool also can be used for other things. I don't race so I don't have to get my wheels off in a hury and I don't flat that often anyway.
Generally in most TT, if you flat and no support is close by you are out of it anyway (excepting in long events - Ironman or the like). I use TI skewers which require an allen wrench for two reasons - they are cleaner to the wind and secondly they are lighter. I spend as much time obsessing about being aero as I do about weight and quality of components. As popawheelie says you can always carry one light allen wrench that should be ligher then two QR levers.
If I'm in a supported event with a wheel vehicle QR skewers are the way to go.
