I think it’s time for me to show you MY BIKE. This is my bike for the 2006 season.

Here is the spec list:

Frame: Giant TCR composite
Fork: Giant TCR composite
Headset: FSA (integrated)
wheels: Campagnolo Eurus 2005
cassette: Campagnolo Record 11-21
tires: Veloflex Master, Vittoria Open Corsa CX, Michelin Pro Grip
tubes: Michelin or Vittoria Latex
skewers: Tune AC 16+17
cranks: Dura Ace 7800
chainrings: Stronglight CT2 53-39
bottom bracket: Dura Ace 7800
pedals: Time RXS Carbon
rear derailleur: Campagnolo Chorus with Fibre-Lyte mesh plate
front derailleur: Campagnolo Chorus
brakes: Campagnolo Chorus
ergopowers: Campagnolo Chorus
chain: Campagnolo Chorus Ultra Narrow
seatpost: FRM carbon
seatpost clamp: Giant
saddle: Selle Italia Flite TT
bars: Ritchey WCS Carbon Classic, OS
stem: Ritchey WCS OS
bar tape: Deda
cables: Campagnolo
bottle cages: BTB carbon

current weight: around 7 kg, don’t have an exact scale, and haven’t weighed all the parts seperatly.

I have actually also bought a Fibre-Lyte ahead top cap but it turned out that was only around 1 g lighter (on my absolutly-non-exact kitchen scale) than the original Giant carbon top cap. And I think the original one has a little more nice finish. So last week when I was out riding my bike I made a detour of about 568 m and lost that gram. I now have a Fibre-Lyte ahead cap lying around. It may find its way to my non-ww-mtb…

Hey, that´s my crankset! Very nice steed!

BTW, Are you also having trouble tightening the chainwheel bolts?

Yeah, a bit like yours, but not handpolished.... And also with the original bottom bracket. But I am planing to change it as to Dura Ace with Ceramic Speed bearings in as I think the original is running to tight.

Have just mouted the chainrings. And no, I haven't had any trouble tightening the bolts...

But, the rings doesn't shift as good as my old FSA. When I want to go from the big ring to the small ring the chain sometimes won't grap the teath... And I can't figure out what's the problem. Have anyone also had this problem with these chainrings?

I know. After a long time of consideration I do decided to do it. Before that I had an FSA ISIS, but after I have worn out to bottom brackets I know longer want to drive the ISIS system. Then I wanted the best crankset for the money. And as I can't afford Claviculas Dura Ace was my option. I didn't want to spend twice as much money on a Campag carbon crankset that probably will be replaced with a model next yeah. So sorry, I know it's a sin.... But to make it more not-Shimano I replaced the chain rings with some lighter ones that isn't Shimano

I have thought about changing some of the bolts on my bike to alloy ones:

headset top cap
FD
FD hanger bolt
RD
Brakes
bottle cages

And changing the Dura Ace chainring bolts to some other Alloy ones… Mayby gold, what do you think?

For that reason I have done a little work in Paint…… not so nice, but I have tried. Don’t master Photo Shop. I have changed the cable mounting bolts on brakes, FD and RD, RD hanger bolt, chainring bolts, seatpost clamp bolt (should of course be titanium) and FD mounting bolt to gold ones. Give me your honest opinion. I haven’t decided if I like it yet.

I have also thought about changing them to black instead which I think would suit my bike very much.

What do you say :?:

Very nice, I think the crankset works out well for you with those black rings on there. I know they are supposed to be mounted like you did, but have you tried turning the inner ring a little compared to the outer one? It's worth playing around with as you will soon notice if it helps or just worsens your shifting problems.

Enjoy the bike!

Thank you, I'll try that. It is like the chain doesn't shift down on the right spot on the little ring so it can't be catched properbly when there is load on the pedals.

Very Nice I like the clean lines and lack of any big logos.

Just one thing where did you get the conical spacer from, I have been wanting one for a while and can't seem to find any.

Also it would look nice to get rid of the logo's on the WCS stem, to keep it with the "Stealth" theme of the bike.

Well I bought it here, but they don't seem to have it any longer:

I have also thought about that. Do you now how to get rid of the logos?

You need either some very light wet and dry paper, which is quite risky because it can take some of the black off aswell. I have the same stem and all I did was cover the logos with a small strip of electrical tape and then mounted the computer over it. Its almost impossible to tell.
