just want to ask which one is more comfortable on long rides. thanks.
I have ridden the trek oclv and now have a seven alta ti. I find both to be very comfortable. Carbon and Ti are both capable of producing comfortable rides. As with any material, they are also capable of making harsh bikes. Becare of buget ti or carbon bikes. Make sure you test ride or talk to owners of the exact bike you are looking at.

^ Like Grill said, your tires are going to affect the ride a lot more than the frame material, so get something with decent clearance. If I forget to pump my tires up (latex tubes) it feels so nice rolling on ~60psi. A bit harrowing once I realize I've forgotten and I'm about to hit a bump, but up until then...smooooooth
I didn't notice any comfort difference between my Ti bike and the carbon bikes I've owned for what it's worth.
edit: Didn't realize this was a 12-year-old post, got bumped by a spammer.

As others have said, neither is more comfortable, or more correctly, either one can be super comfortable. I think in the end the difference is that Ti is more durable especially when it comes to crashing or a travel bike, but it's usually a bit heavier as well.

It's not that easy. We can't lump it together like that. What are you looking for when it comes to the bike?
A low bike or a more upright bike? For ready to ride bikes you have Cannondale Synapse and Bianchi CV Infinito for example.
You can easily get a titanium frame that is very stiff and unquestionably on the harsh side. Ofcourse this is very true for many carbon frames to.
For true comfort you should look a bit deeper than just wider tires and lower pressure. Look at frame (can be built so it has comfort), a seat post diameter
of 27.2mm (with inbuilt flex), a good saddle, wheels and 25mm tires.
Better see this as a concept just like "aero" is not just a frame or wheels, but a concept.

Do we really resurrected a thread from 2003?
