i just got the WU-111 and the new battery...so i going to update all my firmware soon.

Yeah, would make far more sense to just pick your big and small chainring separately from a list, but they present you with 'their' choices, like 50/34, 52/38, etc. 50/36 isn't there....

big chainrings vary. cassettes are more fixed in various ranges...but generally specific range. you would think that the option would be built in...or possible in another app upgrade.

That looks more like the newer SW-R9150 to me. The 9170 shifters do NOT have a plug for the old sprint shifters.

Well, there are disc brakes on that Giant, so those levers can't be 9150 since those are rim brake levers.

looks like it must be new sprint shifters... that have the same port as the climbing switch

will be interested if they can be set up on the tops either side of the stem, as i much rather the sram "blip" climbing configuration over shimano.
being able to configure etap click/shift pattern (left/right/up/down/both/front) with shimano sprint switches used as climbing would be my preference.

the blips are nice with the rubber covers. makes it cleaner and less obvious.

Now that pisses me off! I'd much rather have had the black one if it was out with the silver one

Where are you seeing a black model? I looked on the shimano website and it looks to me that the renders all show a regular metal cage, the second image looks like it has an added rendered reflection.

agree, looks like sw-r9150 - you can see its bulky h=13mm transition over handlebar
